Remember that this is only part of the process of making the server software inside a virtual machine reachable.

If you’re using VMware Player, you can still use bridged networking mode to make your server accessible. There are methods for installing it yourself by extracting the vmnetcfg.exe file from the VMware Player installer, but I couldn’t locate the vmnetcfg.exe utility in the latest version of VMware Player, VMware Player 5.0 – it may no longer be included in the installer.

Unfortunately, this utility is not included with VMware Player.
